The SOS Reading Approach is the best way
for schools to provide the training, tools and
teacher support needed to meet reading
goals. And, the annual fee for the SOS
Reading Approach is less than half the cost

innovative classroom and after school programs focused
on improving each child's reading skills and achieving QCC
reading goals. Our team supports schools and teachers in

a
variety of offerings and outreach.
- An intensive two-day training course prior to the start
of
the school year instructs teachers how to use the SOS
Reading Approach in their classrooms to meet requirements.
- Every teacher using the framework receives a reference
guide that includes approach, intervention tools and resources.
- Teachers are guided in how to freely employ lessons from
existing curriculum and resources already in the classroom,
making the framework tremendously cost- and time-effective.
- Ongoing support is offered via regular in person, e-mail
and phone meetings.
- The impact of the framework is measured and illustrated
via pre-, mid- and post-testing, which are based on BLT
standards or whatever standards are most appropriate for
the school.
- To provide a forum for teachers to share best practices
and address challenges, we facilitate mid-year strategy
reviews.
- Ensuring that parents can continue the progress made in
the classroom or after school programs, we facilitate fall
and spring parent-teacher workshops.

Benefits
The SOS Reading Approach creates a positive cycle of progress.
Because the framework is not scripted, teachers can infuse their
curriculum with creative elements that will appeal to their students
and motivate their progress toward reading fluency. The freedom
provided by the SOS Reading Approach benefits everyone in:
- Students become better readers
- Students have the tools to do better in every subject
- Schools are more able to meet QCC requirements
- Teachers are more empowered
- Jumpstart offerings for early developers
- Parents are more satisfied
